pH balance bone turnover

pH Balance PASCOE (Basenpulver) was shown to have a protective effect when added to a highly-acidifying diet. Animals on the acidifying diet had significantly higher kidney weight, lower rates of bone density and higher excretion of both phosphorus and calcium, meaning that calcium and phosphorus were not available for bone formation. In addition, markers of bone breakdown were significantly higher in those animals on the acidifying diet. However, supplementation of Basenpulver protected against those changes in every case, reducing calcium and phosphorus excretion and markers of bone breakdown, and improving bone density.
